USM x Comme Si

USM x Comme Si exhibition took place at the Neutra VDL House in Los Angeles, a National Historic Landmark designed by the renowned modernist architect Richard Neutra.

The collection, designed by Comme Si Founder Jenni Lee, reimagines the USM Haller system through a zen, feminine lens, drawing inspiration from traditional Korean ‘hanok’ architecture which is characterized by its harmony with natural surroundings, simplicity, and functionality. These principles are mirrored in Neutra’s ethos of redefining luxury through simplicity and a thoughtful connection to nature.

Minimalist Design

The exhibit seamlessly blended USM’s modular furniture with Neutra’s minimalist design, creating a serene dialogue between geometric forms, natural textiles, and the indoor-outdoor harmony of the iconic Silver Lake residence. Emphasizing a new relationship to materials, ornamentation, and the environment, Jenni envisions a place for ritual, gathering, and meditation, inviting visitors to experience a home where elements like colorful textiles, plant life, and geometric forms foster a gracious, sensory experience.

Comme Si brings luxury to the quiet details of everyday life, starting with fine socks and loungewear. Designed with intention and attention to detail, each piece inspires you to indulge in simple pleasures. Celebrated for giving old world artistry like knitwork and textile development new meaning in modern times, Comme Si excels in materials and color theory, introducing textures and palettes that are visually inspiring.

Along with the curated configurations, a limited edition Comme Si collection inspired by USM colors is available on commesi.com
